So, if diesel fuel weighs roughly 8/lbs/gallon, and you get 12 mile/gallon, you lose 2lbs every 3 miles on mostly your drives. You still have a minimum of 1,100 lbs to send to the steers, too. I'd move the 5hth wheel 1 notch forward, maybe 2 of you have a scale nearby. Or.....you can rum back roads for the next 750 miles to be safe....
lual and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
Diesel is closer to 7 pounds per gallon unless it’s pretty dirty.

Good lord run that!
hope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
It's sort of like running 5 mph over the limit. You could technically get popped, but it's more likely you won't.
Speedy356, hope not dumb twucker and Gomer1969 Thank this. -
12mpg?! What world do you live in? Maybe 8avg if it aint hilly.
Rotfl 12mpg. -
Really? I was averaging 11 in 1990 with an L10 motor.......

I’ve been driving trucks for 8 years in 5 different trucks and the best I’ve ever seen a truck make is 6.4 mpg.

Run it
Our Volvo 860 may get 12 mpg if its bobtailing on flat ground. Loaded @ 78k we will be at 6.5 -
I’ve seen low 11’s running the flat lands with light loads.
77fib77 Thanks this.
