Not recent. It may have been incorporated into another class, but most schools districts have it as a sophomore social studies class.

I can answer this one, I'll be 80 in a few months. Still in good shape. I laugh when I come across an old pic of me from in my 20's or 30's . Sometimes hard to adjust to high tech world we in now. A few minor body adjustments as we age. Occasionally I'm addressed as I feel a very elderly person from a stranger ! Even having the other person kind of put out their arm to "catch me" while holding a door open at a restaurant. Thinking, do I look that decrepit ? Enjoy the time you have left....

90 years old here. Last DOT physical, I got a 2 years card. But, not too many carriers will touch a 90 year old. The last carrier I drove for is Alan Ritchey, hauling U S Mail. Best company in my 62 years of driving. I would still been there had it not been for the post office give the route to a freiight broker. I go to the gym at least 3 or 4 times a week. Do all my yard work. God has richly blessed me in my old age. I am not on any medicine.

Oh, for me personally, reitrement is for the birds!!!! I miss trucking, but I am very picky . I ain't touching freight and I am #### well going to be home daily.

This question is all me. After my ordeal over the summer with my 13 hour brain surgery, now when I look in the mirror I see me as I was 40 years ago. I feel great, I’m constantly told I don’t look like I’m almost 70, and I have a renewed look on life like I can conquer the world. It’s amazing how my outlook on life has changed since I had 2 neurosurgeons drilling a hole in my head and fishing around in there. The way I look at life today? I still have a lot of living to do and feel the best I’ve felt since I was in my 20’s.

Live life to fullest because no one knows when it could end is what I tell people nowadays…I tell people don’t worry about things you have no control over either…

Been a very productive week in the package world of FedEx. Ran a load every day from Murfreesboro hub to the Memphis airport hub. Left at 1pm and was done at 11pm. 498 mile turn. Today I’m off. The truck I’m assigned to, a 2024 Cascadia, is getting 10 new tires put on, and 4 new batteries. Meanwhile, my first week back last week was my set salary plus my reimbursements for my trip up to Humboldt. This week I wound up running 3550 miles, which put me 1350 miles into the bonus of .75 CPM plus my salary. So, after my first full week back after3 months off, it’s all good.

Just got a call from my contractor. Wants to know if I want to do a Lenexa KS run tomorrow and lay down there to come back on Sunday. Told him to sign me up. Nice easy 610 mile run each way.

    JohnBoy,
You sure have the boss from Heaven. I bet you wish you had him from the beginning. I know if I had found him long ago I would have considered not retiring when I did. Enjoy the rest of your time working for him.

My mother is about waist deep in dementia complicated with bad COPD. If you ask Her at 10am what she had for breakfast she can’t remember…. When I tell her she is 83 years old she is shocked and amazed. She thinks she is in her 60’s…. :) She says she doesn’t feel old. She can tell you in detail about her horse when she was 12 or growing up taking care of the chickens… but she also says she went sky diving once (she is TERRIFIED of heights and never sky dived) and how she travelled to Japan once with my father (they didn’t)
I’m glad for every day I spend with her. Getting old is a ##### sometimes…. You’re right… enjoy your time here cause you never know when it’s gonna take a turn for the worse. She has such a good attitude about it all. It’s hard for me to have a bad one around her.

Dementia is so ugly. I mean it’s horrible for anybody to end up having that and more so for the family members that have to watch the person that has it… I wouldn’t wish that on anybody
