Well Fridays check was a whopping 280.i had a 2800 mile trip that didn't deliver till after payroll cut off.then home Depot changed my delivery time to after payroll cutoff for current load.oh well I just have to remember that it's not weekly pay that's important but ytd.just gotta make wife understand how it works and convince her I am not cash advancing for stripper money

It goes both ways. You'll have weeks sometimes where two 2000+ mile loads will hit the same pay periodFriend, Lonesome, wulfman75 and 1 other person Thank this.
-
You might ask payroll of they can split a load in that situation. Dont n know about your company but at mine if I jeeded the miles they can pay you for what you ran that pay period and the rest on the next pay period
Friend, Lonesome, James j and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wouldn't it make more sense to be paid for the miles run in a week rather than the load? If you got paid for 2 2000 mile trips in one week wouldn't the tax be higher? I am just curious drivers because the Feds don't split my SS payments.
-
Yes I think we can do that also.i didn't try because I figure I still get the money whether it's now or next week.to me it's the ytd pay that's important not weekly.but to be honest it is kind demoralizing to see that for a paycheck, even though I know it's not accurate

That's a really good question on the tax implications.i never thought of that before.I will guess that since we are paid cpm that it doesn't affect us in that way I have never read anyone complain about it from tax standpoint before.and some drivers always complain about how their company is screwing themFriend and navypoppop Thank this.

James J,
The reason I stated is for example is if you only got paid for 1 2000 mile trip times your mileage rate your taxable amount would be less than if you were paid for 2 2000 mile trips. At least if you were paid for your miles driven in a week it would probably be in your favor. -
YTD is important but I do jave some.of. my loads held and/or split so I can keep a fairly consistent check every week.

Well this weeks net was 2950.last weeks load paid on this check .I think I need to put truck in shop.been trying to ignore it till I go home but am afraid it might leave me stranded .when I turn key to start, nothing happens.have to cycle key several times for it to start .don't think it's starter cause when it kicks over it sound strong.checked all cables already.guessing it's a electronic component issue .that's the beauty of being co driver ,I don't have to fix.only been putting it off as I don't want to have couple days down while it in shop
