Around two years ago during training I lost control and sent my truck into a ditch. My truck had to be towed, I was given a ticket and was let go. I'm currently working a non trucking job but I decided to check my record in case I ever want to return to truck driving. However, when I checked my DAC through Hireright, my record was completely blank. I tried to order my PSP, but I get a "Driver couldn't be verified" message.
Did my record fall through the cracks? Was my lack of tenure in the truckin industry the reason why I don't have any trace of me in the system?
Accident During Post-CDL Company Training; However there's no record of it anywhere?

@brian991219 can give a more precise answer.
I will say, you won't have any problem re-entering trucking. Plenty of decent jobs available for you to choose from. -
Did you have a CDL when you hit the ditch or still in CDL school?
Were you even an employee or just an unpaid student?tscottme Thanks this. -
I do have a CDL and it was paid team "training" through a company.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Don’t know what the issue is with your psp but I vaguely remember it happening to me..try figuring it out and get your report. Accidents will show for 5 years.
Get a “CLUE” report from…see link. This is a comprehensive report that underwriters use. If there’s no record of an accident there then nothing happened

The DAC will only show the incident if the previous employer participated in the Hire Right program. The PSP will only show it if the DOT did a crash report and inspection post-crash.
Now, it may still be on your driver's license abstract since you said you were issued a citation. In thay case most employers will see it when they pull your MVR. Be prepared to explain the crash if it is on your MVR.gentleroger, tscottme, aussiejosh and 3 others Thank this. -

It happened out of state with no reciprocal reporting requirement so my in-state mvr is clean too.nextgentrucker, Bean Jr. and Chinatown Thank this.

That is a dangerous gamble because with a CDL states are required to report and if they don't you as the CDL holder are obligated to self-report citations to your home state.
Federal Register :: Request Access
*EDIT to fix broken link to the FMCSA regulations related to notifying your home state about citations that happen out of state.
While most drivers never have to do this because the states are supposed to better communicate about CDL drivers, the regulation still requires us to tattle on ourselves if for some reason a known citation did not show up on our home state MVR. The odd part is this is only for convictions on citations, not accidents that didn't result in a citation. This means many accidents that don't result in a ticket go unreported annually.Last edited: Nov 4, 2025 at 9:01 AM

Some small towns in some states don't report speeding tickets; they just want the money.
nextgentrucker Thanks this.
