Thank you! This is informative and it helps me understand my axle temps.

Ho Lee Shi-te. They do it that way all the time because they don't own the equipment.
Don't worry about the trailer, the ground will catch it. -
I’d never guess you’re making the payments on that ####. I call it #### cause that’s exactly what it’s gonna be soon the way you’re headed.
-
I know. I have kicked myself to a pulp already.Landincoldfire Thanks this.

This is your equipment, you decide how stuff gets loaded and unloaded. Period. They dont like it..too bad.
Sure they are paying to repair the trailer...thats fine. How about compensating you for the associated downtime and loss of revenue?
And you are lucky they are offering to pay for repairs...some places would just say 'hey we asked the driver and he said go for it'.
No one but you cares about damage to your equipment. I learned to drive the equipment so that someone without a care in the world did not trash my equipment when loading and unloading.Feedman, cke, Landincoldfire and 3 others Thank this. -
Thank you for the advice. I will definitely heed it. They did not want to pay at first. The superintendent said that I gave permission so it was my fault. I told him the story: came to unload and was told by the unloader that he side unloads these all the time. At no time did I even think about side unloading until it was mentioned to me. I told the unloader if it isn’t going to damage my trailer then go for it. He then damaged my trailer. I did not give him permission to damage my trailer. I had to call the cops. They came and said it was a civil matter and to exchange insurance. My calling of the cops brought their company’s safety. He then told me they won’t get insurance involved and they will pay for repairs. Exchanged insurance and contact info. He was a good guy and mentioned that when that equipment is on my trailer it is mine until it is unloaded. Do not allow anyone to pressure me or touch the equipment without my permission. He reinforced the importance of knowing my equipment and cargo because the buck stops at me or is it with me?
Then I went to pick up a load and the load is not 12’6 high but 15’9 high on my trailer. Anyone know how to lower that blue thing? I dropped my trailer with the load at the shipper and bob tailed at to a truck stop. Horrible day today.Attached Files:

Did you not measure that before you loaded? Looks like you've already got it chained down. What did the shipper say when you asked about it's height, and why would you go ahead and load and secure not knowing you can even haul it?
-
I doubt they will actually pay. They probably said that to get you to leave. And the truth is they don’t owe you. You gave permission and you sat there and filmed it while it was happening. At no point did you make them stop. Just pay for it. Education is expensive ya know
Feedman, cke, Albertaflatbed and 12 others Thank this. -
