    Hello.

I'm on my 2nd day of orientation. I'm waiting for the shuttle to go to the Pittston Terminal and there wasn't a clear answer from them. It was like they didn't want to say. One of them said "lightweight if you're going solo. No questions asked."

On the website, it says that you can do reefer solo with a condo (team truck) or take a .05cpm cut and drive a lightweight (coffin sleeper).

Is that the same for the solo company driver tanker? (Thinking of doing this then getting my hazmat for the big $$$$).

Because I went on the lot and went inside a coffin sleeper cascadia and I see why they call it that. I might as well off myself and stay true to the name because there's absolutely no space in there.

    Trucker61016 and JForce28 Thank this.

You’re probably not going to do tanker with a condo. Most tankers are midroof, all though googling “prime tanker” does come up with quite a few condos.

Also no one is taking a 5cpm CUT to run a small sleeper, unless they are morons. Prime use to offer extra cpm to run the small sleeper trucks. Maybe there’s a misunderstanding.

2nd day. You should already have a contact person that’s acts like the rookie dispatcher. If this person can’t answer your question, ask who is next up in command. It is not hard to find the person who isn’t afraid to make decisions. Forget about the sleeper size…you’re not cutting my money. @kylefitzy said it, only a moron would agree to that. That’s a dealbreaker. I would verify that and line up the next job for the very next week. Travel light.

Don't let Prime sucker you into their company lease program, either.

Prime likes to push their lease program -- especially on new(er) drivers.

Prime is not a good place to start out in flatbed, as well....

There wasn't a clear answer to WHAT? What was the question?

It's my understanding, most of the Prime tanker drivers are back home or back to a Prime customer about every other day since almost all of their tanker work is for dedicated customers. People think since Prime does a lot of OTR reefer then they must also do OTR tanker, and there is virtually none. Since tanker drivers are home every other day or at a Prime or customer terminal coffin sleepers are used.

Just called a recruiter. She said that you can go into tanker after 6 months of solo. She also said they don't offer lightweight anymore.

    That's what she said.
