How are people with no CDL getting truck driving jobs?

They have experience operating that equipment in other countries and have personal connections to truck owners here who will give them work.

 

I doubt the companies that they’re working for even have insurance. It seems to be common these days to insure a truck or two just to have a policy to keep your authority active and then just put a bunch of trucks on the road.

 

Well, these are estimates, but credible sources say less than 4% of truck drivers in the US that should have a CDL, don't. With 3.55 million drivers, that comes out to about 142,000. Some say as many as 350,000, or 10% may not have a valid CDL. However, it means 96% do, so it's not a huge problem, but troublesome none the less.. Like all these stories, we hear of all the bad, but not the good. I think it's incredibly important to have qualified drivers, and with so many, some are bound to slip through the cracks. All things considered, and how many safe miles are traveled, I think the industry does an excellent job.

 

I was working for a Ready-mix company that was owned by a wealthy Hispanic entrepreneur. He had 6 or 7 RM trucks and 2 dump trucks in operation. The concrete finishers were not US citizens and they barely spoke any English. Sometimes when the drivers were short of help, a few of the finishers would just hop the trucks and work like they were licensed. You gotta do what you gotta do at times

The Biggest problem that is a major factor is the 3rd world mentally and them owning companies in North American. They keep on using their 'Back at Home' attitude and style of business that was corrupted from the start. And the majority (95%) never vetted the drivers properly in the 1st place. This mindset amalgamates faster than light speed and the already corrupted system turns a blind eye towards it. I've been preaching this for months and most ignore it, yet the facts remain. Bring in 3rd world and become 3rd world. Those immigrants from 3rd world countries are that way because of their mindset. Nothing will ever prosper from the way they think, yet even some who are born in the North American continent will sometimes take the chance and follow yet never look at thr longetivity of vetting a driver properly because they might believe they can save money, its to costly etc..etc. The government is cracking down on it but in a progressive intelligent society how did it even occur in the 1st place?

Corruption is the main factor as much as many want to disregard that idea or ignore it altogether. Those trucking companies with deeper pockets can Vet the most drivers who don't have Cdl's and will still achieve some ground in the Chaos because they're a Bigger ship to sink and they know it will take much longest as they skim and try to save on the other end financially. That Elephant has always been in the room but like most major trucking companies who only see profit margins play dumbfounded when caught.
