Amazes me the amount of people who think a load doesn't need to be secured.

I have hauled a lot of tracked equipment on step decks over the years, but never anything that heavy.

    upload_2025-11-7_10-28-33.jpeg
That machine looks like an XCMG 210 which weighs 51k lbs, guessing that is a 48' Utility combo stepdeck, which is only rated for 45,000 lbs in 10' and that is sitting on the main frame, not out on the rails.

This is also why I wouldn't haul a tracked vehicle on a step deck using ramps to load, because when using ramps when the tracked vehicle hits the break over point where it is transitioning from the ramps to deck or vise versa, it is creating a single point load with the entire weight of the vehicle on the tail board of the trailer, and unless your trailer is made out of oilfield grade pig iron, it is not going to be strong enough.

Went to a place in Latrobe, PA. with a road truck and trailer. When I arrived at the receiver, I asked about trucks getting in and out of the place. Unloader points to a day cab and pup, says “we get trucks here all the time”

This right could be a problem. IMG_4616.png
If I were the one to have to do it, I’d go a little further and turn around here…
    IMG_4617.png
…And then go back and sight side back in there. If it’s doable that may be your best shot.

Gatordude, cke, exhausted379 and 3 others Thank this.
