I used to have a stepdeck with 4x 60" stainless boxes under the deck on each side, they were on it when I bought it but they were beautiful, Nice Ravens Stepdeck, pulled into a site in Kentucky where they still had not done all the dirt work, they wanted me to pull into a certain part of the site that was very rough, when I told the foreman it would smash my boxes, he flipped his lid, started screaming at me, I turned around and walked out got in my truck and drove off.

Called the broker, broker started making calls back and forth, the foreman told the company there was no way my truck would be hurt, the company signed off in writing that if the boxes were damaged they would pay for them, I turned around, drove back to the site, proceeded to rip 5 of the boxes off my trailer setting them down on the ground going over the hump I was worried about.

We unloaded, stacked the destroyed boxes on the trailer and strapped them down, then I walked into the foremans office and he get's smart with me saying "See I told you nothing would happen, that it would be just fine" with this smug superior look on his face, assuming nothing had happened, then when I told him that 5 of the boxes had been ripped off and the 6th had been damaged, he started accusing me of doing it on purpose and once again became incensed.

This was back around 2005, those boxes were going for about 800 each installed then, they flipped #### when they got the bill especially because I also charged them for the down time and the mileage to Iowa 80 from Louisville.

When they tried burning me on the pay I filed a lien on their job. That solved the issue as when I had the lien delivered to the property owner I included their letter, the itemized bill and pictures of the damage to the trailer as well as their letter stating they would pay for the damages.

Sometimes you just have to be the bigger A-hole to get paid.

Think we have all had a similar situation. I know I have. After the first one, it’s NO, you want this, then it comes off here situation.

like you, I have left the location, only to have them agree to unload in a place that is not going to damage equipment or property.

Tarps are a whole nother category.

To be fair, he might be agricultural exempt or something idk. The whole set up was a bit rough.

That might be the worst case scenario, to wind up unloading on the main drag and riding everything in on the forklift.

I got that last week. Most guys don’t have any problems.

Well what he didn’t say until I asked was most guys have a tandem daycab and a tandem trailer.

I’m like well yeah that makes sense. The truck is 5’ shorter and the trailer is 4’ shorter. If I was 5’ shorter with a trailer with a 4’ shorter pivot point I’d have no problems either.

From the looks of it they have enough money to pay a professional such as yourself extremely well and not even blink. I am confident you will get it done and make some great money doing it! Are you taking them landscaping stones?

What's the over/under on the number of calls the police receive before you set your brakes? :D

From the looks of that monstrosity, there's been plenty of trucks in there, but betting it ain't gonna be pretty!

I didn't notice the date on the google image, but that house under construction may be all done now, which might diminish the prospect of using there entrance if needed.

    Edit to add:

2025 on the google image, so shouldn't be completed yet.
