Can willingness to work nights boost my chances of getting hired?

Maybe I'm just used to it at this point but I love the early AM shift. I wouldn't want to start at 5 or 6 even if I had the option. Rotating days off are probably a bigger annoyance in fuel than split shifts, with many companies running 6/2 or 5/3 work weeks. Although 6/2 is probably only common in California since we have 80 hour weekly cycles with our intrastate HOS.

    #### 6/2 rotation. No way i'd do that. 6 12's is misery. And having to live in cali on top of that? No way in hell. I'd take a bullet before that.

More power to ya. If I did 120 hours every 2 weeks I'd take home 2 grand. Maybe just a little more.

    Juice aint worth the squeeze.

Personally I’d prefer 3-3 over 6-6, as if I get off at 3 AM it’s still dark when I get home. Whereas if I get off at 6, the sun is rising by the time I arrive at home. It’s easier for me to get to sleep if it’s still dark (I’ve worked night shift occasionally in the past).

To be fair, I’d rather start out on nights due to the sparse traffic. And there’s one company in WV that I’m 90% sure I could get hired on at if I relocated, but they have a high turnover rate and mostly bad reviews on Indeed (though some are good). If I thought I could survive there for a year or two to gain experience (similar to a newbie driver working at a Mega), I’d give it a try. But if I get fired or get run off after only a few short months; that’s a risk I don’t want to take.
