I remember another US Navy officer that killed his wife. He was sentenced to 21 years in Leavenworth.
Enlisted guys doing time didn't like him because he was a high ranking officer. A few days before he was to be released, they killed him. His family had planned ahead and had a nice place for him to live and a decent job.Numb, broke down plumber and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
My cousin spent years and years in Leavenworth. He said that place is very violent and the news just doesn't get out to the public. One night he heard a scuffle outside his cell. He slowly looked out, just as everyone involved ran away. He said all he saw then was a pool of blood and a mans private part laying there. Had something to do with being unfaithful to his lover in there.

When facts are unpleasant, we should use "alternate facts".

23 years seems like a pretty light sentence for murder...but hopefully it's hard Leavenworth time and maybe he won't make it out alive anyway. Guy can rot.
Assuming he'll also get a dismissal (officer version of dishonorable/BCD).
