Wussup everyone, so my TriPac Evolution has been running a bit rough on startup and puffs out some blue smoke. Now it’s doing it full time. Once started it’ll roll out a good amount of diesel smoke then it tapers off then once it’s under a load it starts running rough and smoking again. It’s definitely fuel related as it smells of diesel fuel exhaust.

It seems like it’s getting too much fuel, ima pull it apart tomorrow and check all the filters etc. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve searched the forum and can’t find anything on the issues I’m having.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

If it's running rich maybe air filter is clogged up and not getting enough air into the engine... the engine pulls air from underneath the truck right there so if u do a lot of off-road dusty driving they get clogged up really fast.. I'd start there and if a new air filter don't fix it . Maybe it could be the fuel pump.. That's a easy fix as well

Thanks for the advice I’ll definitely start there.

Could a fuel pump over fuel? I rekon it could I’ve just always had them quit supplying fuel.

Blue smoke is oil, so it is burning oil though that may or may not be why it is running rich. Possibly one or both of the injectors.

Update….it was the air filter. Thing was so nasty it was starving for air.
Replaced it and zero smoke and runs smooth as butter.

    Thanks for the help guys!!

I'm just here to add something to look at. I actually found this post since I was having the same problem. The rubber end on my air filter cover was getting sucked shut. Removing it from the cover took care of the problem.
