If a hair follicle test is likely, but you've only been clean a few months, this is what you need to do:
1) Get a military-short haircut. Remove all facial hair.
2) Manscape. Get a good trimmer (Wahl makes some) with multiple settings. Trim ALL hair on your body; don't shave yourself, don't cut it to a 'shadow', but make certain none of your body hair is longer than 1/2". This includes any back hair. You may need assistance... -
They want 1.5" of hair for a hair test. That's supposed to be 6 months growth. If someone shows up and doesn't have enough hair to test they will likely sent packing. Better just to stay away from these companies. Even if you haven't used drugs in years or ever.

Oh, FFS! So, if you were Asian and had no body hair, they wouldn't hire you until you grew your hair long? Yeah, consider this a red flag. Forget this company.

He may be busy.
Look, I am really sorry this happened. This comment and those like it really peeve me off. All across the USA, people have more relaxed attitudes about weed. In the vast majority of the country, having it is either fully legal or will get you a summons to appear. These attitudes then get people thinking they can smoke that crap and drive a CDL-required vehicle. Then they get caught up in the testing, either the urine (DOT-mandated) or the hair test.
Word to the wise. You can't smoke weed and hold a CDL right now. If anybody is reading this comment and has smoked, I highly recommend you get a private hair test done to ensure you are testing clean BEFORE you take off to orientation.
I DO NOT like what the FMCSA has done concerning weed. Test positive, and you are only disqualified until you can test clean. A positive on a hair test should then go to a urine test. If you test clean, the hair test is tossed. What is happening these days is BS. Of course, I don't want people driving high on anything. I recently heard about a guy who was driving high on Alprazolam. Caused a near-fatal accident. There is a sweet spot here, and it seems the DOT don't care. -
I'm kinda surprised to see some older hands here know so much about how to get around the test.
One thing you can do that SHOULD work but will cost you some $$. Is too find a substance abuse place, make sure that after spending your money and going through all the classes that at the end they will give you a certificate. Ask them this before you give them any money. Then with this certificate, to companies it's kinda like you've seen the errors of your ways and you don't want to live like that anymore. Just telling them that doesn't mean anything, BUT with a certificate showing you did go thru substance abuse education will show them your serious about making a life change. Make sure you screen these drug places out because some of them can be shady and will take your money and then say goodbye without any help. There's a ton of them that pop up here in Wichita and then a couple months later they're gone and the place is empty. If it was me I'd call your local court clerk and ask them which places that judges send people too in court cases. Those state approved places should work. But as been said don't carry ANYTHING with you on the job unless you just wanna throw that job and future jobs down the toilet. Also, the old excuse after you fail a test about--I didn't smoke anything but my friends did and it must've been second hand smoke--that won't work, speaking from experience, I know somebody who'd tried it, didn't work. It wasn't ME....
