now i've been doing quite a bit of research on the new 2010 regs at first i admit i was hot but i find like most i think that i was hot for no reason or no reason as of yet. the 2010 regs have been pulled back in for revue encluding and formost the hos rules and i never thought id say this but you can thank a few drivers for that, yeah thats a fact a few drivers had a set down along with OOIDA with the politicians and had a heart to heart with the powers that be and they pulled the regs back in for review, now i don't know if thats going to turn out to be a good thing or not only time will tell BUT those few drivers got them trying and that is a start and i personaly send out a big thank you for there efforts and you say drivers can't do anything , they can if they try.

now a few things you can be sure of they are going to have a very effective data collection system which means that anything that happens concearning your cdl will be put in the system and it stays there for awhile don't no for sure how long but if you get stopped for whar ever it goes in the system and more importantly it also goes against the carrier you work for they get tagged also and if you get enough points you can get disqualified to drive and the carrier can get shut down now i've heard all this before and have yet to see a carrier shut down pay a small fine maybe but never shut down there to busy placing blame on the driver but who knows maybe things are going to change only time will tell but some of the powers to be are listening anyway.

the thing i was most against was the recording device to track the truck and driver that they wanted to place in the truck an i admit i was furious about that it aint gonna happen in my truck but in fact the independent will not be affectied buy it unless of course he gets way out of hand it mainly applys to drivers and carriers and drivers leased to a carrier.

i think what we all need to do is just sit back and relax till the final rulling takes place , dont think it's going to be as bad as some rumors imply but only time will tell it could be a good thing or it could be a bad thing me i just don't trust big brother in perticular when he gets envolved in free interprise but no need to worry about it now its just to soon to know for sure .

I've been reading a lot here from drivers who are seeing more miles, seeing O/O freight rates climbing (the prosperity), but, there are also regulatory issues that are up in the air....some of which are actually front and center (the paranoia).

I'm feeling pretty positive and optimistic about it all. I personally can't wait to get started. Looks like I'll get my shot starting the 31st. Waiting on confirmation from recruiter.

I'm felling pretty confident that things are slowing getting better which will be good for us. And if CSA 2010 turns out as bad as some think it will, meaning 100,000+ drivers losing there jobs that'll just mean more jobs for us lol

I'm ready to get going been sitting on this CDL for more then 2 yrs, only got 127 days till I turn 21.:biggrin_255:

I'm positive and optimistic too. A challenge is always good...keeps a person on their toes. I hope you get your confirmation ASAP. Good luck!

So you think it's gonna be a good year to get into trucking? All I've been reading lately has been about how overpopulated the industry is. Course I didn't discover that tidbit of knowledge till after I got in school. But it'll be Oct. before I hit the road. I take it things might be looking up by then?

THE year of prosperity and paranoia? Hmm. I think every year is a year of prosperity and paranoia in this industry.
