Oh goodness, I hope the law gets those pumpkin hurlers. That's some recklessly dangerous behavior there. They really could have got some people killed for real.

    The_vett and mjd4277 Thank this.

There's mischievous and then there's plain ole insane. To me that's attempted murder. It's thought out and executed knowing the result is going to hurt or kill someone.

    Agreed.
Someone could’ve very easily been killed, plus if the truck wrecked there also would’ve been a possible environmental disaster!
PSP needs to nip this in the bud and hunt the perp(s) down!

    The_vett and TheLoadOut Thank this.

"The case is being investigated as a case of propulsion of missile into an occupied vehicle – a second degree misdemeanor because no one was injured"...because they got lucky, but the bad intent with no remorse for the possible consequences still existed. I prefer driving nights, and generally peek up at overpasses but I need to be even more aware these days. Nobody is truly held accountable. Like the guy who cut the fuel on that airline flight, what a bunch of bs that was.

    The_vett Thanks this.

This happened to me early in my career, 1978 to be precise.
I had just picked up my brand new International 4070B in Fort Wayne IN (NAVL) on my way to Grand Rapids MI to pick up it's first load.
It was in August, so the pumpkin off the overpass in question was still green, not partly rotted like it would have been in November.
Completely spider webbed the passenger side window. Called the cops from the next exit. Took a report.
That windshield leaked for the rest of the life of the truck.

The_vett, mjd4277 and TheLoadOut Thank this.

Probably would have killed them if it"# landed on a bike.

Studebaker Hawk, The_vett and mjd4277 Thank this.

Seems this story pops up every year on some highway in Pennsylvania.
