IMG_8576.png IMG_8577.png We’ll plan for over-width Saturday. Short run checked it Thursday, looked over load, issues. Lined up gear to secure. 12’ wide nearly 10’ high. So 20’ chains, 27’ straps will not fit solo. 32’ plus 4’ to get to rub rails. So 2 straps for each point. Under 5k lbs so. Just lack of equipment. If I can get there early, no people I can load it before they realize what I have done. Just hate climbing +14’ on ladders. Will try to remember pics so folks can tell me how dangerous the load was.
Yes I left out something. How many will notice issue?

For the first few years after it opened in 1986, there were signs for the Fort McHenry tunnel in Baltimore saying 15’6”. They’ve been gone for a long time now.

From memory I think that all the motorway bridges in UK had to be marked for less than 16 feet, but almost everywhere else most were marked wherever they were. To be honest, even though I worked here a few years, I never noticed bridge height signs because I knew that, driving a frigo, I was always under the legal limit of 4 metres (about 13 feet). Anything less than that was always marked.

So? I’ve moved them with a one ton. Same as the new d1 about 18,000 pounds.

It’s crazy what the newer generations of pickups will pull. Have 3/4 ton rated to 18900, the 1 ton duallys are getting rated north of 35000
