New to this space and looking to learn. Where would u you prefer to shop for parts or get service (if both FP and a dealer are close geographically)? Would you pick one over the other in specific situations? Anything I should keep in mind while buying from Fleetpride?

I own a Cascadia now and an FLD before this truck. I buy most of my parts from the dealers.
IF it is a part I absolutely need today and Fleetpride is the only place to get it. I will shop from them.
Be careful shopping Fleetpride. Some of the parts are cheap chinese knock offs.breadw1918 Thanks this. -
What about dealer brands like TRP? Heard mixed reviews there too

I buy whatever I can from Fleetpride/Truckpro but there is precious little that I've ever needed for my newer plastic trucks that wasn't a dealer part.
Even the air dryer filter on my 2021 is still patented and I have to pay 5x as much for the dealer part.
I did get oil filters the other day at Fleetpride (good Baldwin ones) for $16 per when the dealer wants $55 per.
My recommendation for a new owner is to shop around, a LOT. Find a source for dealer part numbers so you can cross reference online. Don't trust supposed OEM parts off Amazon, learn where you can save a buck and where it's wise to spend it.
Example: emissions sensors. Go with OEM. Make sure they are OEM.TripleSix and breadw1918 Thank this. -
It’s always been hit and miss. Depends on the part. Fleetpride is usually pretty good. Sometimes they’re much higher. Air drier cheap, alternator cheap, shocks expensive, Freightliner often beats everyone. Air compressor, fan clutch, engine rebuild kits, heads. Truckpro wins on a/c compressors. Often in stock, or next day. Different franchise same Manufacturer Dealerships, have big price differences. There’s no consistency. Just have to call and compare. One thing I’ve noticed since Covid, Freightliner parts being on backorder. Things that are easily found by searching online. Amazon, Ebay. Freightliner doesn’t seem to care. Their supplier is behind. Still plenty available elsewhere. I’m still amazed at price difference between sources. Big differences.
