I don't care for FL either, no parking, crowded, hot. I did my 7 years in FL before trucking and don't care to see it again.

The Treasure Coast and inland, rural FL are the parts I almost like the most. They have the least people, least NYC-energy, maybe you call it a more Southern energy. After living there for 7 years I just cannot tolerate the heat and humidity 358 days a year. I lived in Daytona Beach 5 years and Ft Lauderdale 2 years and worked outside for a lot of it. I understand why so many people love FL for a week or two, but the job market is never great and almost everyone is a transplant. The further South you go in FL the more like NYC and Haiti it becomes and the further North you go the more like Alabama or Georgia it feels. Some like chocolate and some like vanilla.Numb, nextgentrucker and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.

Lol! I get you, you just gotta stay off the big cities just like in every other states, I've lived in Sunrise for years and yeah they're a lot people there, that’s one of the reasons I moved up north to Port Saint Lucie, but everybody seems to be moving here also. I wanted to move to Texas cause Florida have been getting expensive lately, but life circumstances has crushed that dream so this one will have to do.

I don't find Florida to be that truck friendly. I also find it to be extremely difficult to drive through Florida, particularly on 75 and 95. Both are so congested for no reason, bumper to bumper action. I'm cool on that. The only good thing is that it's warm lol. Then to get a reload is so dicey. The potential for taking a day off after off loading is high.hope not dumb twucker, tscottme, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this.

PSL, Stewart, up to Melbourne are/were nice. I understand Melbourne blew up just before 2008 so it's probably too crowded compared to when I saw it a long long time ago. I swear they are going to cover every inch of the state eventually with homes.
I lived in the Dallas area for a few years. I don't see the big attraction to that state either. I think it's reputation is leftover from who knows when. Like CA, I think most people imagine the state based on TV and movies, which are about as inaccurate as paid liars can make it. And speaking of heat, OMG! I know the 13 actual native Texans are good people, it's the other 30 million people that ruin it for them and us. My family founded a town in East TX. My experience of TX is meh.Chinatown Thanks this. -
I love Florida and lived there for several years.
Only issue I had with Florida are insects getting in the house. Humidity causes that.
Here in Nevada the humidity is so low, it's very rare to see an insect inside the house.
I still love Florida though.tscottme Thanks this. -
