I drive for a small family owned trucking oil company, he has three Pete transport trucks and a bunch of Pete tank wagons.
(See images) My transport truck is a Peterbilt 389 2017. For that year Peterbilt it’s not a 388 anymore. They changed it and now they call it a 389 Short hood And it has that 2 inch slope from the firewall to the grill.
My boss is giving me an opportunity to restore this truck i.e. new bumper, new stacks, new wheels, etc. we would also like to either do a little big hood conversion or maybe find a 388 car hauler hood because for some reason they made those flat! My question is has anyone ever tried to put bushings where the hinges are to bring the hood up an inch or so to make it look more level again these are company truck so don’t jump all over the fact that you should’ve just got a 389 or any of the other BS.
It’s a great company. My boss is a standup guy. I really love it here and I’m trying to help him do it as cheap as possible. Thanks for any advice.

There was a member on here selling the kit. Replacement he made with grease zerts. He was a fabricator. I bought a pair. Maybe the mods can dig it up. Let me do some back research. I remember saying he was going to put them on eBay also.

    Thanks so much
Do you just add them to existing mount?
How much did it raise the front up?

If you just raise the front you will wind up with a big gap at the lower rear.

I have them in the truck, don’t need them yet but I couldn’t pass up the price. Maybe mods can look him up, went by AES machine or something like that.

Do you have pics of what your truck looked like before and after installation?

My truck is a 2014 388. Pretty much looks straight as is. It’s on my avatar. I haven’t replaced them yet. IMG_8037.jpeg
