Are they saying that more government rules, fees and restrictions didn’t result in anything other than more rules, fees, restrictions and lawlessness?

    Shocked, shocked I am!

    44%?!?

    That's all?

I would think more like 88% don't qualify.

I did read another article somewhere that did say it was 88% of trucks OOS.

I post this trying to get to sleep parked beside a white volvo whose air compressor goes off every minute.

That truck doesn't have an air leak, am I right?

Clearly they did not audit 16,000+ CDL schools in the last month.

What most likely happened is someone at the FMSCA set up an AI program to read the web sights of the trucking schools that exist. Of those web sights they found 44% of truck driving schools advertised 1,2, or 3 day courses. Such courses could not meet the current schooling requirements.

So, true to form, Sean Duffy will send out a nice letter asking these schools to not advertise such truck driving courses. 30 days from now he will send a more strongly worded letter. In all cases he will claim a great victory as he cleaned up the truck driving 'mills' and the general public can rest assured the non-domiciled CDL drivers are all properly trained.

They will still have the 1,2, and 3 day truck driving schools, they just won't advertise them. And you can bet your tax dollars will still be paying for them.

Here is the thing, since the FMCSA and US DoT have been involved with training, the quality of drivers has gone to crap.

I don't believe Duffy wants to do the really tough things because that means he has to defend it against a public that is fed BS about the Administration.

His taking federal funding away for roads is a joke, suspending every authority to operate over state lines is not, and it is within his duties to ensure the safety of the public.
