Incident was in my personal car, was one year ago.
I got a lawyer to fight it, he did nothing for me but take my money,
but that's in the past and there's nothing more to be said about it.
I just need to know if I have any chance of being hired now and if so with who.
And if not....never ? Or when 2 more years have passed ?
Please give opinions on my prospects or assistance thanks.

Have 11 years OTR experience, or 5/6 out of the last 11 years anyway,
so this is the only obstacle to me getting a job / a good job.

Careless driving is a moving violation and it will become dicey for you to get hired at a decent company. Put in an application at company youre interested in, see what they say, and that will tell you what you need to know. If you can get hired on somewhere, stick with that job for a couple of years and keep your record clean.

I have just come back from 8 months out of the US and i have started to apply to places, looking mostly at Chicago/1099 type places, not bothering with companies I know I have no shot with, and the only one that called me back said no, we can't hire you, i asked them the same question I'm asking here and she said someone else 'definitely will' hire me. For what that's worth.

Have you tried Western Express or Freymiller or Paschall Truck Line?

    10538 Thanks this.

555 That's where I just got back from....I live in Jomtien though. We've talked before.
Really the last thing I want to do is get back in a truck but I don't have enough put away to be full time retired.
As for Western Express, I haven't called them yet, have been saving them as a last resort, I figure if they
said no that would really be it for me. I can barely handle the rejections I've been getting
but I might have to bite the bullet and call them sooner rather than later.

Submit the app from Western Express website before calling. Call and say, "I'm checking on my driving job application."
Do the same with Freymiller and Paschall Truck Lines.

I remember you from the past. Wish I was back in Asia. Maybe someday.

I've spent most of the last 5 years there, interrupted a couple times by a few months of work,
and everything I do is an effort to get back there.
Would stay there (or Cambodia) and teach English if it paid just a hair more.

Do you think I should list the careless driving from December 2024 on applications or not.
My guess is it doesn't matter one way or another, they're gonna get my MVR and go by that,
not what I say on application. If they can't take a guy with careles driving then that's it.
I don't think anyone's going to give me brownie points or a job for being ''honest'' on my application.
Putting it on the application seems like telling them in advance not to hire me...don't even run my CDL.

The careless driving will show on the MVR, so may as well list it.
Some don't list issues like that, then get booted from orientation.
When asked about it make sure to say, if asked, "No alcohol involved."
