So I've scoured Google n came up with nothin. I've got a 94 FLD that has a pretty rough hood on it and im looking to see how big of a mod it is to graft a 70's FLC hood on. Are the cabs even the same width?? Moving the axle fwd is no big deal...

FLC and FLD cabs are the same. They even share the same doors as the FLA, FLB, and FLC cabovers. Steer Axle set back position is the only thing major you will have to deal with for fit. Most FLD’s were eastern set back while the FLC’s were western forward.

Ok, so the windsheild frame is the only big difference? I've noticed also that there is a piece of body that comes down from the cowling to the same level as the bottom of the hood that the FLD doesnt have...

Sorry about that. I didn’t get you wanted to fit a 70’s model hood. The first gen FLC that came out in ‘74 or so was different cab. It was originally built as a White-Frieghtliner WFLC. It shared the same doors as the early coes. All those were all aluminum cab and hoods. Door style on those changed around 1980 to the full bulkhead style on all FL’s. The newer second gen cab came out in mid 80’s. Those shared the same doors as later coes. Those were fiberglass hoods. I think that is the one you will want for an exact fit. Those two generation cabs didn’t really change much and the crossover years used the same exact dash. That same dash was around for a long time. I’d think the cowl measurement would be pretty darn close.

What im after is the hood with the pedestal headlights. I have no idea what years those were built till. If I need to do a little massaging to make it fit then thats fine, just not looking for a major job like changing out the whole cowling etc.

‘82-‘83 vintage, then the headlights went rectangular and in the fender.

Good to know!! Now I know anything up to 83 will work. Now all I need is verification how similar the cowlings are...

Not sure what all was done here, old looking hood on a newer cab but it’s built into an extended hood. Al-Amin out of Chicago owns it. You could track them down on social media and pick their brain.
