I don't get it; they hire new cdl school grads that already have a cdl.

PTL and Empire Express have ceased their training programs for new drivers due to noncompliance with training requirements. The U.S. Department of Transportation has removed nearly 3,000 CDL training providers from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Training Provider Registry for noncompliance. This action is part of a broader crackdown on illegal and reckless practices in the trucking industry, aiming to ensure that drivers are properly trained and qualified to operate commercial vehicles safely.

 

This link keeps re-opening this page. Are we sure this is true? I couldn't find anything on this when I did a search.

 

I found that article on a Bing search.

 

It mentioned those 2 companies specifically? I see in other articles that they're cracking down on CDL schools. It left me under the impression that thousands of schools were losing their accreditation. To my knowledge, both of those companies don't have CDL schooling. They train drivers after they get their CDL. I know for sure Empire doesn’t have a school in Memphis.

 

You're right! What will companies do if they can only hire experienced drivers? Drivers have to start somewhere.
