Given how stiff/tough the CDL job world can be of late -- every possible advantage helps.
Will you in fact use the TWIC, later?
Who knows? Maybe....maybe not.

In south Ga, it’s doubtful.

Do they pay extra for working holidays? The job description states holiday pay, and I would assume I’ll be working on holidays. Also will it matter if I don’t (currently) have a TWIC card? It asked on the application if I had one but didn’t state one was required.

Not so fast -- you could be later routed to the port in Panama City, FL...to get fuel.
That's why my boss-to-be asked about it.

You should be paid extra for:
- Night-shift duty
- Weekend work
- Holidays

I don't know about fuel haulers but both chemical tank companies that I worked for re-imbursed me for my TWIC. So ask before you go get one.Zonno Thanks this.

Id be shocked if they asked about any hazmat stuff in your interview. Thats what training is for. Just explain why you want to work for them and you want to be an asset to the company. Mine was very straight forward, went over my driving history and asked general questions, you'll be fine. If its in person you should be fine with a button down collared shirt and jeans...its a trucking job. Mine was over the phone.

Pay for bad weather...lol. Yeah thats baked into your base pay already at most companies where you experience bad weather regularly.Last edited: Dec 3, 2025

Pilot pays you 8 hours of your regular pay for 10 different holidays over the course of the year, regardless if youre scheduled to work on those holidays or not. PTO is paid in 11 hour increments for every day you request off, no OT on PTO.
You will most definitely be working most holidays unless the holidays happen to fall on your regular days off or you request the holiday off and its approved.Zonno Thanks this. -
Are you still there
