Excuse the post-mountain filth. Been a day or two since I've seen a short 450 with a bed!

If you come to Princeton some day you may see me pull in and back out with 8 vans in 48 minutes, but I can promise it’s all done properly. I don’t ever rush but do have a very good routine. Ft Wayne 6 trucks takes me a little longer but not much.brian991219, Oxbow, richardson918 and 2 others Thank this.

If only... At the ramp, we've got entirely too much transport damage to ever hope to load domestics that fast and not go broke on missed damages. Import guys do it, but they barely look at their stuff.
It got a little better for a while, but we're back to seeing a couple units per load with rocker panel/running board damage from the shuttle crews. Ford and their unpaved storage lots, based on the amount of dirt, mud, and rocks we see get carried into the foot wells.brian991219, Oxbow, Tall Mike and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I hauled out of the GM rail in Cincinnati I was consistently 2 hours because if you looked hard enough you could find a scuff/scratch on every single large unit. My off rail loads at my current location is 1.25-1.5 hours due to inspection times and units being further from my rig. Toyota off rail units don’t have damage like GM did because they inspect them when they come off the train and the loading/unloading companies know it. Plant product is usually extremely close to my rig. I still look at plant product for major damage but in 14 years hauling out of this plant I had one unit with a small scuff I missed and it was for one of my best dealers who buffed it out. Toyota quality is excellent in my experience and it’s a pleasure to haul.Hammer166, brian991219, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this.

When I retire here soon my part time 2-3 days a week job will be driving units off site. The KTP shuttle contractor hires retired Teamsters as casuals when they have too much work to haul. They have units scattered aIl over this part of the country and some places they have to be driven to. If it’s eventually coming out west I will avoid any road debris I possibly can while driving to or from the storage lot. You can thank me now if you want!Last edited: Dec 12, 2025
