The serial number to the engine will be in 1 of 2 places. Look behind the air compressor just below the head gasket of #1 cylinder, if you find nothing then look just below the head gasket of #6 cylinder. Serial number will be on the left side of the block….MACK E-6, Oxbow, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ok I’ll walk down and look. Thanks

the pt pump was originally set at 335hp
where it is now is anybody's guess
if 290 pistons (higher compression) were installed and the pump buttoned and shimmed it would outpull a newer 400 big cam although they ate headbolts like candyMACK E-6, Tbag3, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
An 87 with a small cam seems unlikely to me, but what do I know!Diesel Dave Thanks this.

Not sure what came in it, but it’s a small cam in there now. It’s a 71 model. Truck is a 87 T600 with a perfect body and frame. Old man had it and was redoing it and died. A guy got it at his estate sale for the engine and cab but sold to me instead. It will be a process but I’ll have it on the road. I drove it 3hrs home
Tug Toy, OLDSKOOLERnWV, Diesel Dave and 1 other person Thank this.
