Some great information there mate, I like looking at statistics should of been an accountant, I guess? Of those close to 5000 fatal heavy vehicle incidents it would be interesting to note how many involved someone of a different race, as compared to say anglo - saxon, there are a number of issues causing these fatalities including fatigue, distracted driving which you'll find are the 2 greatest causes of motor vehicle fatalities. Not driving defensively, such as following to closely for the speed being driven which is a constant problem in heavy traffic, watching what is going ahead in traffic can often allow a CDL driver to start slowing down well in advance resulting in no collision. Note there has been a big push recently in some states which is a positive such as Oklahoma, to check the legality of drivers with a notable amount of drivers having invalid licenses or no CDL at all. To apply for any drivers licence a person needs to have a valid SSN so not sure how an illegal would be able to obtain a valid CDL this would bring into question if there is any corruption going on in various Dept of Transport offices across all 50 states. Persons in the country legally e.g hold a valid Green card can if at the right age apply for a CDL, this would also include anyone granted asylum. Also persons on a work visa would also qualify for a CDL if that job required it, many farmers and harvest contractors employ people on the H2a visa, the H2b visa is also used by companies requiring drivers for the busy spring/ summer season. Think we can all agree on the fact that something needs to be done in order to curb such fatalities in the future.

Semi driver in deadly I-96 crash faces new arrest warrant
Sounds like a middle aged white guy to me.......
Middle aged white guys shouldn't be driving big trucks and should be taken off the road immediately!!!!!! -
There has always been accidents and always will be.
An illegal that shouldn't be here in the first place can't get into an accident if they weren't here.
If a person that doesn't understand English wasn't given a CDL in the first place that accident also is preventable.48Packard, AModelCat, TurkeyCreekJackJohnson and 2 others Thank this. -
"A false equivalence or false equivalency is an informal fallacy in which an equivalence is drawn between two subjects based on flawed, faulty, or false reasoning... ...Colloquially, a false equivalence is often called "comparing apples and oranges..."
"This fallacy is committed when one shared trait between two subjects is assumed to show equivalence, especially in order of magnitude, when equivalence is not necessarily the logical result. False equivalence is a common result when an anecdotal similarity is pointed out as equal, but the claim of equivalence does not bear scrutiny because the similarity is based on oversimplification or ignorance of additional factors...." -
