1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Windy Hill says ill start at .30 cents a mile... and that most drivers average 2500 to 3300 miles a week... Does this sound right to you folks? 1 cent raise every month for the first 9 months i think is what they said also

ok ive been talking to Windy Hill for about 5 days...they have all my information... i had my DL suspended in 2000 for failure to pay child support... my son was living with me at the time (im not a dead beat dad) i finally got it all straight in 2008 all child support owed was dropped got custody of my son and got my DL Back... but it looks like this is goin to be a problem with me getn a job driving truck.

ive had no tickets in the last 10 years, no accidents ... never had a DUI and no Drugs.. am i the only person with a CDL that had my DL suspended for child support ?

TOP GRADUATE IN MY CDL CLASS , 3500 BUCKS TO PAY FOR SCHOOL AND GET MY CDL A and im only qualified to DELIVER PIZZA

Mule Clipper, what type of work are you looking for exactly? OTR is going to be rough on a young family if you're not ready for it, but with the economy the way it is right now you're going to be very hard pressed to find anything local right off the bat. There's still the option of regional, Commercial Carriers and Coastal Transport come to mind, they're both in the Comcar family of companies. I started with CCC when I was 21 and was fairly happy with them, just wasn't my cup of tea being away from home, especially when I had left a local job and the door was still open to go back. LCT, Windy Hill, other companies like that are most likely going to leave a sour taste in your mouth and might very well leave you questioning how getting your CDL benefitted you at all. Think clearly about the decissions you make right now, trucking is not the industry it once was, what used to be a drivers market has almost now become an employers market, they are able to pick and choose from thousands of applicants, if you're lucky enough to get hired somewhere just stay put and put in some time with them, it will look better in the long run to have a few solid years of employment with one carrier.
