No tall shifter in here. This truck was having issues with some solenoids on the transmission, so for the sake of simplicity and to disprove a few co-workers, I put a set of boxes in here (6x4).

It would seem to be counterproductive in a truck that delivers multi stops in a city, but I have found here in the delta it comes in handy. Whenever I'm in a field or at a farm and it's spinning I no longer worry about the computer overriding me.

I put it in 20th and hit around 110 mph and dry up the mud pretty quick. The only problem is I keep setting the lane departure off when I have my arm wrapped around the steering wheel and switching gears between boxes.

There has been much carnage on the highways and byways today— fortunately we have not been a part of it

The mark of a true driver, everyone should have to run with an A box for a shift just to know how good we really have it nowadays. My old bed truck had a 6 and 4, when a rod exited the block we scooped a Freightliner from Ritchie Bros to do an engine swap, "new" engine had a 13 speed. When coupled with that 4 speed aux box that thing grew some crazy long legs. What a hoot, bedding a 400 bbl tank at 80 mph down the highway.
