I see a lot of guys in my area hauling like this. Taking a big gamble in my view. Man I drive for regularly put one of his Cat 308’s on his low 3 axle pintle hook trailer behind his single wheeled F350, to save some time. Slid flat spotted four tires trying to stop it all in a parking lot on the edge of the harbour, or go into the river. He had done it before, but hasn’t since. Wheels and hills don’t always mix, just cause ya can, don’t always mean you should.

Sounds like he had non functional trailer brakes then. Pretty dumb to move that kind of weight and rely on only the pickup.

Towing heavy like that off a pintle hitch vs a gooseneck is also way different. Gooseneck can transfer weight properly to both axles on the truck. Pintle will lift weight off the steers making the braking situation even worse.

I don't see the problem Look's like it's secured pretty good.Doesn't look to be overheight or overwidth.

I’m sure wherever he’s going will be pleased with a bunch of strap marks on a quarter million dollar machine.

They don't look to be new. What would you suggest, baling wire or twine string?

Chains, at the front at the very least. Anybody worried about scratching, it will be very scratched when it hits the tarmac.

    CAXPT Thanks this.

I see chains on it, can't tell what's on the front, properly chained down the straps are a no-no, even if it is used equipment they leave marks no one likes on there machines.
