I didn't know Little Rock was in a seismic zone. Don't recall any mentions of earthquakes there.

New Madrid Seismic Zone. Because of the nature of bedrock in the central U S., damage is likely much further out from the epicenter than in California.

Another big quake there (and they tend to come in a series there) will likely do major damage in St Louis and Memphis, with Little Rock and Evansville close enough to have worries, as well.

The last major series in 1811-12 resulted in enough shift in the plates that the Mississippi ran backwards over waterfalls for a brief time.

Little Rock,St. Louis,Memphis would suffer catastrophic damage. Indianapolis and Chicago could possibly feel it. In Little Rock’s case it has a “double whammy”-not only do seismic events come into play but severe weather events play a role as well since a good portion of Arkansas is in Tornado Alley!

Remember a few years back when the Amazon warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois took a direct hit from a tornado and caused one of the walls to cave in?
The construction of that warehouse was called into question. And there are still lawsuits ongoing from that!

Few people realize how active New Madrid is, because most quakes are too small to feel. But it's a time bomb that's due to go off again, and it'll be chaos. It will most likely take down all the river bridges for several hundred miles, and all that old masonry construction in St Louis and Memphis will just crumble.

Well, when New Madrid goes, along with the Yellowstone Super Volcano, the "Big One" in California, plus Mt Shasta or Mt St Helens, where we going to hide?

I’m more worried about an object the size of a sewing needle hitting earth at the speed of light..it’s nuts how much energy it would produce :)

If that one blows its top you can kiss Seattle,Tacoma and a few other cities in that region goodbye!
