I've been a company driver for almost 28 years and decided to get my authority this past month. I've been restoring a 2007 379 Pete and I'm finally putting it on the road. So, I'm now dealing with getting an ELD and I'm needing one of course to be simple, able to be edited if I screw something up and of course it needs to do the IFTA monitoring for me. I just want to avoid the haggling back and forth with people overseas that can't explain anything to me on the phone, they just want to get my billing info from me and start charging me. I'm leaning towards the HOS247 ELD but still undecided. Anyone using it yet? If so, please let me know if it's decent or suggest another one to me. Thanks in advance.
Looking for a simple ELD for a one truck outfit

We’ve been content using Konexial my20. Especially useful if you run various exemptions.
Not really useable for team driving.onetime42 Thanks this. -
HOS247 is indeed very popular. Some others that are pretty popular that you could consider are TT ELD, ELD4Trucking, Reliable ELD, and First ELD.

Aren’t there ELD apps for smart phones?

Some can use the smart phone for the eld screen. But the eld has to be hooked up to the truck's ECM. So, no there is not just an app you can use without having the engine data being transmitted too.25(2)+2 Thanks this.

I use MasterELD and they are awesome. It's only $20 a month. They are based in Illinois and always answer the phone whenever I need help. I do my own editing, as long as it's not the drive line. If I need to do a little "creative" editing (nothing illegal), they take care of it for me. Like sometimes when I'm not under a load and want to go shopping, I forget to use PC. So the ELD will put me on "drive" and I have to call them to fix it.
MasterELD actually doesn't let you edit anymore. You have to go with IDELD, which is the same company. Same price. You do have to get the device though. They sell the tablet and adaptor also.
In your admin panel, you can download your IFTA reports with a couple of simple clicks. You can also view your tracking history and locate your trucks in real time. Just a great platform overall.Last edited: Jul 29, 2025

Hey man i’m in the same boat, 20 years driving and just went out on my own. Bought a cheap 5k truck that needed a lot of work but finally ready to go i think. Just curious if you found a good ELD and how you like it?
