Lol, I need a mileage plan!
Just sent my truck renewal in to a tag agency here. Mileage report was 90,xxx..bad year, no motivation for the crap rates.
Florida started issuing 2 year plates last year. and I started using a 3rd party tag agency. So far it’s a whole lot better than dealing with the state. Unfortunately still got to deal with Tallahassee for IFTA.

If that's what it is that's what it is.

Everybody has to work within the rules.

I have to get ahold of the accountant and see what he has to say about it.

There's always something new to learn in trucking...

Just start another LLC that is a subsidiary and title the truck in it.

I wanted to follow up with this. And I think this is part of the problem.

I don't know any of these businesses so I'm not particularly interested in going to knock on their door to ask them, but I know of several dump truck businesses that have like 10 to 15 trucks something of that size.

There's at least two of them off the top of my head that are not far from me.

Each one of them has multiple trucks that are part of their Fleet that are just parked, that are not dismantled, they are not salvaged, they are trucks that can be sold, because for a while some of them were for sale, but each of these businesses has trucks let's say they've been sitting for the last maybe 10 to 25 years +, and I'm certain they are not paying Insurance on those trucks.

I'd like to know why I can't do the same thing.

Why is it that they can just park a truck and never think twice about it for 10 15 20 years and if I want to park my truck for 1 year it's the end of civilization and I have to financially alter everything happening, why is it they do not?

Is it really just if you're a larger carrier you can more or less do what you feel like and the little guy they shove it to him because it's not enough business for them?

Maybe I will have to go ask them, but why can they let trucks sit uninsured and it's not a problem, but for me that's literally up the street from them, it's the end of civilization to take a tag off my truck and park it.

    Why is that?

And is there anything I can do about it?

They could be on a mileage plan for their insurance. If the trucks don’t move they don’t pay on them.

    I never heard of that.

I think we all would love a plan like that.

I have to call for insurance today for my other truck I'll see if anyone knows of such a thing.

You don't have any insurance companies that actually do that, do you?

I've been on mileage for over 25 years. Most ones that will do mileage say you need 5-10-20 trucks to do that.

The guy I drive for now has Great West and is on a mileage policy. He’s running around 50 or so trucks now, but I think was around 20 trucks when they let him start doing it.

    That's what I figured.

They do that because they know they get a larger premium when you have more trucks so they give you leeway because they want your business.

Apparently a one truck guy they could care less because it's not enough revenues so don't let the door hit you in the you know what on the way out.

And make sure you hold the door open for the nice gentleman with all the trucks that's coming in that we actually want his business.

All this BS with this insurance like this should completely and totally be illegal because you own your own property in the United States of America.

I'm done my rant, it's just a disgrace.

If the stuff you want to park is depreciated out why not just transfer it into your name if it’s that big of a headache to carry insurance on them?
