A record-breaking storm is anticipated in Los Angeles/Long Beach this week, and my truck will be parked outdoors in the yard during the holidays. I would appreciate any advice on preventive measures to ensure the truck's safety. I understand the importance of avoiding parking under trees or near electrical posts. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Try to get a building or hill between you and the wind if you can. Dont park where anything can fall on or roll into it. Make sure anything that can get caught in wind is tied down and secure. If posible jack knife the rig into the expected wind direction to give more stability if you have a trailer, park nose to wind if bobtail so the wind wont rip up your ferrings or roll you over. Dont park anywhere that could even potentially flood. If you can, cover the windows with some kind of hail protector to ensure flying debris dont shatter windows. If your mirrors fold in, fold them to the truck to help protect them and the side windows. Chock the wheels. If you can get a heavy low center of gravity load into the bed you can sit on (assuming a van or reefer) through the storm that will help a lot to prevent rollovers. (think pig iron or something very low to the ground like that)

Otherwise good insurance and good luck.

Park behind a sturdy building in a low pressure area if possible.

That’s a pretty wet forecast for around there after looking at the weather app!

Is this an AI joke ?o_O Will probably get enough moisture just to get your truck dirty. They always over exaggerate when the so-called say “the sky is falling”. If you’re going into a panick, go rent a storage unit that your truck will fit in, other wise, throw some buckets over the exhaust tips(weed burners not included). @D.Tibbitt hit it on the head.

Its not totally unheard of to get some nasty weather roll in off the Pacific. Portland and Seattle have had some pretty heavy rain and flooding lately. SoCal typically doesn't get it for whatever reason...lucky geography I guess, unlike Florida where hurricanes are always a threat to flatten the place at the wrong time of year.

    I don’t know…

I saw the words “bomb cyclone” used elsewhere. That might be 3 drops of rain.
