LIST TRUCKER PROBLEMS HERE

during my career driving, i knew a LOT of OTR drivers, Most had a cigarette in their mouth, and were some of the Best drivers you would ever meet. Most i assume have past, but i remember the days sitting in the lunch room waiting to get unloaded and just shooting the breeze with them. Those were some of my best times sitting with drivers and talk just about anything,, and one way or another you would relate to it. You just didnt know what kind of conversation would come up, but we had fun just talking.

 

Yeah but how many loose leafs in a ten days are ya going thru might not be the pen.Lol

That ole passive aggressive office behavior has always been my favorite.

 

Getting laid over in Laredo Tx. for the weekend.
The taxi fees to Boystown, the entertainment fees, it got expensive.

 

It depends on where you are running...but -40 in Montanana is an experience.. that's one that sticks out in my mind.. if your truck dies then you have to be prepared to survive.. I mean that in the most literal sense.. definitely not a flip flop friendly environment.. so if you run out west and over mountains.. be PREPARED... All the Best

 

Sad but true.

 

Log books don't last as long either, I'm lucky to get 15 days out of one.

 

Yeah, no worries there for me. Once "log sheets" had to have their line item in the budget instead of going under "misc", we knew something was going wrong.

Not enough sheets in a pack? Maybe I mess up too much? Hell, maybe I work too hard. Whatever the cause, we knew something had to be done.

So we copied and print at home now. Printer paper is significantly cheaper than log sheets, and now we can afford to eat again.

 

Lately one of the biggest problems has been numerous of phone calls and emails from east indian oversea dispatch companies flooding my company email inbox. Its beyond ridiculous and extremely disturbing and I don't believe I am the only one. One of them even pushed cabotage while they suggest the only way to survive as a carrier from Canada is that way because of the Canadian lack of freight in comparison. Yes, good point, however, its 'Illegal'. The moral amongst certain people, just isn't there and speaks volumes on how they are operating. With so much goijg on regarding ELP I am sure its beyond difficult for the policing of 'Cabotage' will be the new focal point in 2026. It seems worse than most would of expected.

 

Company I work for gets the company info printed on sheets , every time I go through the office I get more sheets. There always asking me what I did with last ones. I just tell the dog ate my homework.
