Every truck I’ve ever speced out had a build price significantly (almost $100,000 on occasion) higher than it sold for. My 2014 389 was over $220,000 on the build sheet. Payed just under $155,000 for it.

If he actually paid anywhere near that much in 2007 he got his butt handed to him on the money end factoring in inflation and lost ROI from practically never running it. Still, $280k is a lot of money even today. He probably needed the money worse than a truck he don’t drive any more.
