Good question. I'm interested in how many respond. Years ago there would be many drivers sharing truck stops that had Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinners/Buffets. Heck, you don't even hear about the Boise Stage Stop anymore. That place was always known for doing this.

Mid 90's, i got free Christmas dinner at the Bosselman's in Big Springs, NE. All you had to do was fill out a card and JB Hunt picked up the tab. Stupidly i put my real address on it and for about the next 10 years, i got a recruiter card from JB Hunt. They finally quit sending them.

I think the best Christmas dinner i ever had wasn't a turkey dinner. The Petro in Amarillo in the 90's and early 2k's had THE BEST STEAKS! Had me a 24oz porterhouse made to perfection and the usual fixins. The restaurant was packed. Had a great conversation about football with a couple of other drivers. Spent the day just chilling and enjoying the company of others...

    Can't do that today :(

I miss the Petro's of old...
