Cheapest toll way for you to do is take the week off….
80-81/84-2 Newburgh beacon is $12, burn a bit of fuel on the hills though, tap is $67 off peak iirc
could always run up 81-88-20 if you would rather blow an extra tank of fuel instead of tollsMoosetek13, Numb, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
If I could afford the week off I would have done that
Gonna ask the boss for directions lolhope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
Avoiding tolls to CT? Go up I71 north to I 90 east, to I86 east to I81South to I84 east. Then figure out the rest yourself.
firemedic2816 Thanks this. -
I would do that, hopefully he tells you just run 70/76-81-78-287 like a normal person
Don’t forget CT HUT, $0.10 a mile in the statehope not dumb twucker Thanks this. -
forgot about the Newburg-Beacon bridgeTrucker61016 Thanks this.

What a bunch of nonsense just to save on tolls when the company just gets a refund as expenses anyway.....
Lonwolv54 Thanks this. -
Don’t forget ct pay to play, comes out about even to take 87 straight to 90, the moment you have to hit the brakes it’s quicker to Springfield
guess you could always run 81n to 88 to 20 and run the river over the freebie, run 20 back over to 91s and 2e if you really feel like wasting fuel,..
I don’t like tolls either but cost of doing business, the roads are usually there for a reasonLast edited: Dec 29, 2025 at 9:49 AM
