Has anyone actually taken the time to read both their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before they pulled the trigger with them? It's quite the read.

As I am forced to use Highway App to set up my one truck company with brokers, I am getting frustrated with them as well. I am not comfortable leaving my CDL, title and cab registration card with them or anyone, but I do not have a choice if I want to book a load. And that happens with each broker I set up via Highway, because I drive glider, I must send all docs to them again and again. If they would take it once and communicate to brokers files are on record and carrier is verified that would be something else. (Also, at some shippers and receivers they ask us to check in into log at counters and leave our bames and CDL #. What else good hackers need?)

Highway does not appear as competent to me. It seems they have folks hired outside the USA that are untrained and different staffers for carriers and brokers. When issue arises during set up and that is at least 50% cases they want me to instruct brokers what to do. When I ask them why you do not say that to brokers they say, "I only communicate with carriers ". Cherry on top was when they suggested I should instruct Werner Enterprises a mega broker how to set up carrier. I am not holding back and in my email replies I include brokers, their compliance dept and Highway staff and speak of their incompetence. I hope they will soon (yesterday) significantly improve the way they do business and help our industry instead of making it harder. With all sensitive docs they have on file I just hope for the best. I am not sure what level of protection they have, but I do not feel I am in safe hands. I communicate with some other carriers and everyone feels frustrated as much as I am. It is just that we can push back and ask brokers to find better way to vet carriers. RMIS and Carrier Portal are better in my mind. Highway made things complicated but did not solve anything.

    TheLoadOut Thanks this.

As long as Highway gets what they want they'll keep pushing the limits. Believe it or not, it is simple to take them down. But it will never happen. All we need to do boys is don't work with brokers that use Highway. Yes, it will cause some pain, but when the brokers can't cover their freight, the shippers will find someone else to give their freight to.
Now, we would all have to stick together to make this work, but remember, we as owner-operators are 89% of the industry! If ANYONE could bring Highway to it's knees, it's us! I have told the brokers that I use who have switched to using Highway that I no longer jail their freight. When they ask why, I tell them when they start posting their personal information on the internet like Highway is forcing me to do, then I'll haul their freight. Of course they lose their minds and start crying about "This is a private business, and we need to keep our information safe" blah, blah, blah. So I stick to my guns and don't use Highway. They still call me.
Don't give in guys. Otherwise they will want family photos and DNA samples next. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but look how they started out, and look what they have become!!
