Canada cartage who owns commerceLink Logistics that bought the walmart fleet is about to have a fight with Unifor for members in Alberta and British Columbia. Seems like the big issues is the union doesn’t like that CommerceLink wants to use owner ops and other problems to work scheduling, disciplinary processes, and protections around work ownership and contracting out.

I hate to say it but i don’t see Canada Cartage ever going under . they have their hands in everything, retail, tanker, flatbed, containers, bought walmarts fleet a few years ago and so on . they were a decent company to work for 15-20 years ago before they went to only hiring o/o mostly New canadians driving junk equipment or driving like maniacs . they love hiring only agency drivers too with crappy wages . That’s when they went down hill
