There we some discussions not to long ago, as to why TA stopped doing road service calls outside of there parking lots. I stopped at a Petro today for a PM, and I asked why. I was told 2 technicians were killed, very sad. If this is a duplicate post, I apologize. Screenshot_20260104_163623_Chrome.jpg Screenshot_20260104_163623_Chrome.jpg

The company I work for uses TA Road Repair Services. We were told that that TA will still come to warehouse / drop yard / safe environment and still do repairs. Nothing on the roadside.

I was talking to a tech at the one here in omaha when i was buying a fuel filter. In 1 year they have had 8 strikes against vehicles and 2 major injurys from said wrecks. Couple years back they very nearly had a fatal when the truck got hit so hard it threw a tech almost 100 yards and broke 2 dozen bones. Guy ended up with more steel in him then a scrapyard apparently and is unlikely to ever be able to work a physical job again.

A friend of mine works at a local road call place and they have had 4 strikes on their vehicles last year and one guy lost a leg when he got trapped between the trailer and their truck. And they had a wrecker totalled when a truck slammed into the corner and rolled it down an embankment.

Drivers out here are bloody insane anymore.

TA has been putting up big signs well before the broken down vehicle:

    "Emergency truck repairs ahead. "

Offenders only drive on the shoulder when there is something to hit. I never see them drive on the shoulder any other time.

Seems like flashing lights draw idiots to them. The number of police/service/wrecker vehicles hit while on the shoulder is increasing yearly.
And another thing i noticed, driving out in the middle of nowhere and you see someone has run over the only sign beside the road for miles.

I had to get batteries as I was under a load that I had to delay delivery. Besides that the time I have the car available to run and get them, I couldn't lift them due to surgery. It cost me around $500 just to get them to put them in. Seeing as I was parked at Lowes, they came.
