Enjoy the tanker yanking. I think you’re going to enjoy it there, from what I read on here.

Best of luck on the new job. Add to the IRT thread and let us know how it is. I’m thinking you’ll see a big difference between
swinging doors and opening a hatch. Plus you’re leaving what can only be described as a joke of a company. A total shame how it went completely down the toilet. Good luck Marine!

It went down once they sold to Knight/Swift. I went through 5 different trucks with A/C issues that they had no clue how to fix.

    Friend and jarhead0311 Thank this.

Have not been paying a ton of attention to this forum since I've been home on vacation, so I am just now seeing this a week late. Been good rolling with you these past seven years. Good luck with Indian River, good luck on the Masters, hope the roads are smooth and the traffic light.

    Just got an email.

Aligning Our Operations for a Stronger Future

    Team,

Today, we want to share an important update as we continue to evolve and strengthen our organization.

We will be transitioning the Abilene Motor Express operation into the Swift Transportation business as part of a broader effort to create greater operational efficiencies and streamline our business processes. This alignment allows us to work more cohesively and focus our resources on one unified approach, helping us move faster, collaborate better, and serve our drivers and customers more effectively.

Abilene Motor Express will continue operating business as usual through Tuesday, January 27, maintaining its commitment to safe, reliable, and professional service as operations, customers, and resources are transitioned to Swift Transportation.
We are prepared to transition drivers to Swift Transportation at the same pay package plus a $2,000 transition bonus as outlined in the offer. Timely follow-up will be provided with clear guidance on the next steps. All current load commitments should be safely fulfilled through January 27. Our teams will engage with all customers to discuss the next steps and align on the appropriate path forward for each account.

We recognize that change can bring questions, and we are committed to being transparent and supportive throughout this transition. Leadership will be on site working closely with driver support teams to ensure a smooth integration and to provide clarity on next steps.

Thank you for your continued dedication, flexibility, and teamwork as we work through this transition. More information will be shared as we move forward, and we appreciate your continued support.

    Sincerely,
    Larry Johnson
    President of Abilene Motor Express

People in the office are being talked to one-on-one and being offered a transition to Swift or a severance package. Drivers who want to stay on will be driving for Swift. No more Big Green, it's Big Blue all the way.

    End of an era.

What they could of said in one short paragraph was……….

“ Due to the fact we are bleeding money and have run this company into the ground, we are turning everything over to Swift who will completely make Abilene disappear.”

I bet the Jones are laughing all the way to the bank.

knew it was only a matter of time. Just talked to Shawn he says he’s going to give the transition a chance. I told him he needs a backup plan exit strategy.
