Like a lot of people.. Has more access to easy credit than good sense. Just envision.. It loaded, curbed at a corner, wide outside tire, with or without wheel, comes off like a warm set of nylon panties...

 

Don't know when it changed but, in Texas if the tires extended out past the fenders, you got a ticket. That's when the market for fender skirts came out. And the factory headlights could not be higher than 42". Guess that went away when the state dropped the headlight alignment test on the state vehicle inspection.
