Not paying layover time is a company by company thing. Any decent company will.. regardless of what they do or dont do, you need to get a load back to ur work area or find another gig.. i wouldnt worry about abandonment issue, id take em to court if they did something like that. 3 weeks with no work, any sane person would leave... And if they did something to my record me and my attorney will own their company by the time we are done with them.

All sound advice. We demand an update on how this all works out.
If you fail to provide an update by 7pm on the 6th you will be forced to stay in SLC for another 3 weeks. That will be your punishment.scythe08, snowlauncher, lynchy and 8 others Thank this. -
I wouldn't mind being stranded in SLC for 3 weeks,I would be over at my son's house hanging out with the grandkids, until they run me off.Flat Earth Trucker, TheLoadOut, D.Tibbitt and 1 other person Thank this.

I guess it does make sense if the OP is working for a company with 74% OOS rate that no broker is going to ship with them. I don't understand waiting 3 weeks to seek help.
TheLoadOut, D.Tibbitt, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this. -

Plenty of time to flirt with the Mormons... Maybe consider a marriage (or two) and a 10 bedroom home..yeah that should be enough rooms...for privacy of course..

lol, I'm southern Utah, SLC is punishment to me
especially this time of year
Flat Earth Trucker, tscottme and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
Let me see if I understand this.
You work for a company that hauls from/to Alaska to/ from the lower 48.
They had you haul a load to Utah, and had no planned return load to Alaska.
The company does not have interstate authority.
This load was on/in a trailer that is not registered.
You live in Texas
You are currently in Utah and have been for 3 weeks.
During this time, the company has not arranged a return load and also are not paying you for your time waiting.Flat Earth Trucker, TheLoadOut, Speedy356 and 2 others Thank this. -
@Chinatown, do you wanna drop a list of SLC carriers to get this chap on the road?TheLoadOut Thanks this.
