I asked for the email of what was ordered and the dealer said they didn’t order the parts. It was the manufacture (Eaton) so no email.

I will get this information from them when I pick up the truck in regards to mileage restrictions and what the build sheet states my truck is.

Update on truck: they received the correct part: clutch last week and installed it over the weekend and did their test drive. I called today to see if all went well and I can come pick up the truck. They informed me that I’m screwed. The truck still has a transmission fault code and they need to contact the manufacturer (Eaton fuller) for further instructions.
Conclusion that I’m coming to is that this is just a bad situation, and there really aren’t any correct decisions.
For example: skip warranty and replace clutch out of pocket would’ve saved me time and allowed me to go make revenue. But what to do, when replacing the clutch didn’t solve the problem and now I have to drop the transmission again?

Shoulda spent this time getting rid of that auto restriction.

Yes, #### is misdiagnosed often. It ain't cost them a #### thing, and you're stuck dealing with folks who DGAF about your bank account.

I don’t have any auto restriction. Just don’t have any experience driving a manual since trucking school. Either way, this is my truck now and I’m stuck with it through good and bad times. I don’t have an option to sell it and wouldn’t want to.
I asked the company that I’m leased on to if I can fly over and be a company driver until this truck is fixed. They said that’s no problem but wait to see what the timeline will be on getting repairs.
What do you think? Seems like it will take just as long as it has with just doing the clutch. Maybe that was a fluke because they had the wrong clutch delivered (had too many teeth) and had to get a different one. Still would be a slow process. Trying to see if it would be worth flying out from Texas to Chicago with a cat. I would have to buy all the cat supplies as well.

I'd get to work. They've spent two weeks jackin off while your truck waited for the wrong repair.

You won’t know till afterwards if it was the right decision, but not making any decision is a bad one.

Don’t take it personally but getting that cat/kitten was a mistake. It keeps you from freedom to a point, referring to moving around like you just mentioned above. I have a Cane Corso at home that I rescued, I fell in love with it but it keeps me from getting away on trips while the other half is enjoying herself. Cane Corso’s are very over protective, and not easy to handle. And I’m home every night. Back on topic now, after what I’ve read on here about auto’s or whatever, I would never ever own one, never wanted to anyways. I’m going on 65 in May, you can’t teach this old fool new tricks. Carry on…… standing by reading the mail.

Every step of the way he was advised against all of this. Including the cat. He dismissed everyone as being negative/hostile. The simple truth is, we’ve all been in the trenches and for the most part everyone that was saying it was a bad idea is successful. No one wants to heed advice that doesn’t reinforce the narrative they want. But the truth is, we ALL said don’t do it.

maybe now he will take the advice when giving. Even if it’s not what he wants to hear.
