Yes, you have a right to a second opinion from another examiner. Some companies use their own doctors though so you would have to choose within their network or move on to another company. I avoid companies that mandate certain doctors as I want to keep my med card independent of the company I work for.. Choose your next examiner carefully, I prefer an actual doctor. All The Best.

If you do get sleep test they have home tests you can take. I believe they have phone apps you record yourself sleeping and they will help give you some idea if you will pass sleep test. If someone stops breathing for 10 seconds that’s 1 event. Someone has to stop breathing for 5+ times per hour to have sleep apnea. They have a sleep apnea scale it going up to something like 25+ times per hour is severe sleep apnea. Some people can get up into 80+ events per hour.

Airline pilots are required to have medical exam every 6 months, and re-tested in the simulator every 9 months. After age 35 or 40, they get a electrical heart test at every exam.

 

I thought DOT prohibited doctor shopping. At the 2nd exam you are required to disclose the 1st doc diagnosed or recommended a sleep test and that you were issued a short-term medical card, IIRC.

 

Concentra is a place that is almost gareenteed a sleep test for neck size
