Even though Knight/Swifty sucked them up a while back, later this month the name Abilene will be no more.
Swifty taking full control with name also. Everyone including drivers are having to fill out new applications for employment. What a crock of shi* to do too people.
Well well...Abilene name being discarded and Swift taking over this month.

They still have the Abilene name. The logo looks different now. Saw one of their newer trucks and trailers with the new logo yesterday. At least thise drivers still have a job so I'm trying to understand your energy here. Many will say working for/under Knight/Swift ain't bad.Lonesome Thanks this.

There are worse places to be than Swift.
mjd4277, hope not dumb twucker, TB John and 2 others Thank this. -
Nope. Recruiting says any and all current employees of Abilene will have to apply or go elsewhere.
Not sure where you're getting info. -
How's this old? Doesn't take effect until later this month.navypoppop and Lonwolv54 Thank this.

Kinight-Swift is a decent company but they are getting too big..let's not forget the US Express acquisition.. They are HUGE right now... Thankfully they are a publicly traded company so the public can view their books over the next few years... I think Heartland is in the worst position, they tried to grow thru acquisition as well but they bought at the wrong times...the worst times to buy actually..
mjd4277, bryan21384 and snowmantrucking101 Thank this. -
Didn't Fartland buy Millis and ruined them?
-
Yeah that's what I'm hearing, at least here in Texas, it's no longer the old Millis.. I wouldn't be surprised if Heartland was the next private equity victim, they made A LOT of poor management decisions...
