Anyone know how much a rider policy: that is one time insurance increase for a load to 1.7 million costs? Noticed some loads want this. Also, how long does the process takes to get this additional insurance?

Might try the search bar. It's been discussed before, and several insurance companies mentioned that offer trip policies.

    AFC and Oxbow Thank this.

I have rented a truck when my truck was down. I had to add it to my policy, and I had it done within the hour.

I've done it and I'm pretty sure, like you mentioned, that we have had some discussions about this.

It's probably in the range of $500 to $1000 bucks and can be provided almost instantly via their website, after payment.

Edit to add: I was speaking of temporary cargo insurance increase.

The loadboard for the past 2 days has went to #### in Dallas Tx. Every time there’s a reasonable load we give them eta and then the scamming brokers state: oh we are just getting a bid or a quote. It is a very bad market out here today.

    Oxbow Thanks this.

thats what your dispatch charges you- they mark up every cost to you, whether its equipment, insurance or a road service call. You pay them what they paid and a significant upcharge.
Asking what other people pay isn’t a useful endeavor/

I went and looked it up: https://quote.freightinsurancefast.com

It cost me $268.10 in 2020 to bump to a million. You want to be real careful though, sometimes they will raise the deductible to like $300,000, but your normal cargo insurance probably covers more than that.
