I hear that! I finally went to my DMV and turned in my CDL. I havent had a physical in over two years and it was time. I have recently had cataract surgery and I can see again so I had the glasses restriction removed.

I'm wondering if it's worth keeping mine.Bumper Thanks this.

That is up to you. If you think you will ever want to go out there again, then keep it. At 73 my health has been going downhill and there is no way I can pass a CDL physical again as an insulin taking diabetic.Friend and navypoppop Thank this.

Dan Millis retired. Lol one day i have a ton of stories to share. Not about Dan. Just about Millis. Anyway we are full on Heartland now. Ha i see what everyone was warning me about for the last 7 years.

Bumper,
I hear you loud and clear but only with my hearing aids. When I retired in 2011 I kept my CDL-A until my physical expired and I renewed my DL down to regular 4 wheelers status. I couldn't pass the whisper test or the physical part either so I've enjoyed my retirement for the last almost 15 years -
When I wanted to go from lurking to posting on this forum years ago I was trying to decide about driving and Millis during the buyout and couldn't think of yet another name for yet another forum so I figured since I'm still trying to decide about doing this I'd be still undecided.
Count me in among those wanting to read your stories, yours seemed to be the best here.JOHNQPUBLIC Thanks this. -
There are a lot of reasons I'm glad I'm retired and being able to stay home and watch whatever havoc may develop if the weather predictions are accurate is towards the top of the list today.
I drove through an ice storm in Dallas when I was driving a tanker a few years ago and it sucked. This storm is predicted to be worse. And is one of the few ways that being in Memphis worse.
Be safe drivers! -
I am so glad I got out when I did.Friend and Still undecided Thank this.

Me too. I anticipated working for Millis to be an introduction to trucking and that's what it was.

I actually stayed longer than I had planned because I enjoyed working for them even for awhile after the buyout. The really deal breaking changes didn't come until after I was gone or were "in progress" when I left. I think Dave's meltdown about idling and fuel consumption happened right about the time that I left.
I've had a pretty serious health crisis arise and if I run out of FMLA, I may have to find a new job once the doctor lets me go back to work. Ugh I hope not because I fkn like where I work.
