I know what I said made me sound like an idiot, but here is my defense. I was told by my driver trainer as well as the trainers at my school that the driver managers will listen to the drivers, especially noobs, and that if you feel that you are uncomfortable with an area, they will help you avoid it until you are comfortable. Apparently that was a dead lie, but i live and learn, and hope for the best. I am currently looking for a job in the industry. I know I will do better this time. I just need a company to give me a chance.

I will be puting in my 2 week notice this week.Swift is the SLIME of the industry, and I have faced so many lies, inconsistancies, and sleezy rude treatment from this company, that I have to go-I would go crazy if I stay.
From the IGNORANT,RUDE, DUMFACCK "Driver managers" TO THE DUMFACCK Copwanabees in the "SAFETY DEPARTMENT".
SWIFT is a sham-a disgrace-the fact that they seem to be so big in this industry, just seems to point to a TOTAL DISREGARD for the BACKBONE of this indistry-THE DRIVERS-the ones out there "getting their hands dirty" to support snide little ex toilet cleaners, and bigmouth knownothings with their noses up some toilet cleaners Ess.
Swift might have been a good place to work at-at one time-and still MAY be for the veterans, but from my "newbie" experience-it ain't a good place to invest your time into, if you are looking for a company to spend your future with.I am looking for another job,and embarassed that I put so much energy into supporting the LOWLIFES at Swift.
Best to alll -
Look at it this way, you were not only expending your energy to make the LOWLIFES at Swift look better than they are, .... you were demonstrating just how good YOU are. Really!
The better Big truck truckin' companies are aware of how the revolving door starter companies operate. That you've survived this long is a feather in your cap. Wear it with pride.
From where you are, you can only improve. Can't look down, just up.
Mattrucker Thanks this. -

I tried to go to work for JB 35 years or so ago. But I had no verifiable Long haul experience so they wouldn't even give me an application! I went to work for a car hauling outfit in LA CA, they were tickled speechless because I could back a car up on the truck and tie it down. I worked for PMT about 2 years then quit cause they wouldn't tranfer me to OK city or Dallas. I just never did like LA!

Hang in there Joker a wise man once told me "Drivers are a dime a dozen but a Good Driver is worth his weight in gold!" Just stay on route and keep the left door shut, watch for bad habits and practice stopping for yellow lights and stop signs and use your turn signals habitually and don't get no tickets and Your time will come!

Didn't use to be BAD to get speeding tickets and overload tickets it just showed you trying to do your best. Course a lot of things have changed in the last 40 years! You had to have a lot of downhill to get a speeding ticket with a 220 Cummins!
